Emmanisms

Our daughter Emma is constantly keeping us entertained by the way she sees things:) Now I realize that you have to know her to get the humor in some of these comments.

"Mommy mommy, look outside I have a surprise for you! The snow is melting!" This is after a week of snow.

"Mommy your legs looks kind of puffy at the top."

"Can I get one of those rings in my chin...you know like what really cool girls have?"

"Mom, I just have to tell you that you are my favorite mom."

Emma: "Mommy I can't wait to grow up so I can move out."
Me: "Well Emma who will you live with then?"
Emma: "Well, I guess I'll get some kids."
Me: "You need a husband first."
Emma: (Thoughtful for a moment) "How did you find Daddy?"

Emma: "Azzie says that I love Ryder" (the 5 year old neighbor boy)
Daddy: "Well Emma, you're not allowed to have a boyfriend you know."
Emma: "I know Dad, he's not my boyfriend. I just loooove him."
Daddy: "Well, I guess that's okay."
Emma: "I think I'm going to marry JT though. He likes to wrestle more."
Daddy: "But Emma, I'll be so sad when you leave us."
Emma: "Da-ad, I have to get married so I have someone to help me have a baby."
Me: "Emma, how will your husband help you?"
Emma: thinks for a moment "Well, I guess if I have 2 babies, he can hold one while I'm having the other one."

More to come...

Our New Years Baby

Three years ago we celebrated New Years while in the hospital waiting for Ruby to be born. After my water broke I didn't go into labor so it was a fun day of pitosin, back rubs and eventually a little nubane. Ruby was born around 8pm New Years day after NO pushes! Seriously the doctor was trying to get there from Camano Island so they had instructed me not to push. She was born at 36 weeks and was 5 pounds 12 ounces. She's gone from our little baby to our little princess.

We bought Ruby a princess dress to match the barbie she got for Christmas.

Dejah came with her son Gideon and Matt and Melanie came over with their kids for cake and presents. Their little girl Clair is two weeks younger than Emma and their youngest Violet is two weeks older than Ruby. Ruby got two babies for Christmas and named them Violet and Clair. Here is Emma and Clair together.

Gramma and Papa came also with Aunt Bethany and Uncle Peter. They got Ruby a cute outfit, a baby stroller and some "ruby slippers".

When I asked Ruby what kind of cake she wanted about a month ago she just said "rain". Okay, I just reminded myself to explain it to her a little better and ask her again later. I did and a couple days later she was still insistant on having a "rain cake". So, here's it is:)

Ruby was so excited and had fun joining everyone in singing happy birthday.

Brayden ended up fighting with her over the baby stroller. He pushed it around for awhile but then impressed Daddy by turning it sideways and lifting up, baby and all;) Ruby got some rain boots and a movie from Dejah and her favorite present of all has turned out to be make up (some lip gloss on a neclace). We are so blessed to have our little princess.
